How to Care for Your Pastelpup Products

A little care keeps your Pastelpup products looking lovely and lasting longer, so your pet can enjoy them for months and years to come. Below is our general guidance on cleaning, drying and storing. Always check any care label or instructions included with your specific product first, as these take priority.

Cleaning & washing

Keeping your pet's things clean helps them stay fresh, hygienic and comfy.

Machine washable items: where the label allows, wash on a gentle, cool cycle (around 30°C) using a mild, pet-safe detergent. Avoid harsh chemicals, bleach and strong fragrances.
Hand washing: for delicate items, or where machine washing is not suitable, hand wash gently in lukewarm water with a little mild detergent, then rinse thoroughly.
Spot cleaning: for small marks and everyday freshening up, wipe with a clean, damp cloth and allow to dry fully before use.

Drying

Air dry whenever possible. Laying items flat or hanging them to dry naturally is gentlest and helps them keep their shape.
Avoid direct heat. Keep products away from radiators, tumble dryers and direct sunlight for long periods, unless the label specifically says otherwise, as excess heat can affect fabrics and materials.
Make sure it is fully dry. Always let items dry completely before your pet uses them again.

Keeping things fresh between washes

Give beds, mats and fabric items a regular shake and a brush to remove hair and dust.
Wipe down wipe-clean surfaces every so often with a damp cloth.
A quick daily tidy makes deep cleaning far less of a chore.

Storage

Store items in a cool, dry place away from damp.
Make sure everything is completely clean and dry before storing, to prevent odours or mildew.
Keep products out of reach if they are not currently in use, especially anything with small parts.

Follow the care label. It is the surest guide to keeping each item in top condition.
Check regularly for wear. Retire any item that becomes damaged or worn, for your pet's safety.
Clean up spills promptly. Tackling messes early prevents lasting marks and odours.
